Sea Fauna at risk

The MPA of Tavolara Punta Coda Cavallo is part of the "Regional Network for the Conservation of Marine Fauna at risk" project, within the regional network of Marine Protected Areas, National Parks and associations belonging to the network, which provides for the activation of a series of measures aimed at the recovery and subsequent reintegration into nature of wildlife in difficulty.  Since 2006, the management consortium has had a team of biologists, ecologists and veterinarians who intervene for First Aid and assessment of the health conditions of the recovered specimens, and eventually arrange for their hospitalization at the agreed veterinary clinic. The MPA Management Consortium also supports the operations of reintegration in the wild of rehabilitated specimens of Caretta caretta and carries out environmental education activities related to the animals recovered and saved. For each intervention a special data collection form is filled in, relating to biometrics and the causes of death of the animal found and/or reported.
